OSW understands how important it is to respect the privacy of visitors to the websites within the osw.waw.pl. domain. The data collected in the event logs are used solely for the purpose of administration of the website.
In order to ensure reliable global availability our website within osw.waw.pl domain uses the Google Project Shield service. Google processes the data collected by the Project Shield service in accordance with the privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy.
Collecting data
In accordance with our established safety policy, we store HTTP queries sent to our server. The resources browsed are identified using URL addresses.
We record the following types of data in website server log files:
The public IP address of the computer from which the query was sent (this might be the user’s computer directly),
The name of the customer station – identification performed by an HTTP protocol where possible,
The time at which the query was received,
The first line of the HTTP request,
The HTTP response code,
The number of bytes sent by the server,
The URL address of the page the user visited beforhand (referrer link) – in cases in which a page on the OSW website was visited due to redirection via a link,
Information about the user’s browser,
Information about errors that occurred when performing an HTTP transaction.
No connection can be made between the data described above and specific individuals browsing the website.
In order to maximise the quality of the website, we analyse log files to determine which pages are visited most often, what kind of website browsers are used, and whether there might be any errors in the structure of the site.
Use of data
The collected log files are stored for a maximum of 50 months as support material used for administration of the website. The information in these files is not disclosed to any person except persons with administration rights to the server and OSW network. Log files are used to generate statistics to help with administration. Collective summaries in the form of those statistics do not include any characteristics enabling visitors to the website to be identified.
Cookies on the OSW website
Cookies (small text files sent by a website to an internet user’s device) used on the OSW website:
- cookies which recognise a user’s device and tailor website content to the user’s individual needs, to make use of the website easier for users:
cookie-agreed - cookies which remember consent given by a user with respect to cookies policy,
has_js – this provides information about whether JavaScript is switched on. This enables more effective performance of operations on the site, improving the quality of the website for the visitor,
respimg – this stores the number representing width in pixels; a device of parameters below this number is treated as a mobile device,
respimg_ratio – this provides information about whether proportions should be maintained when the size of the image changes,
- in order to create anonymous statistics for the website – this gives us more information about the expectations of our users and helps us develop the website to make it more user-friendly. To do this we use Google Analytics to analyse use of our website. Our analytical service provider’s privacy policy can be found here: http://www.google.com/policies/privacy/. The name of the analytical cookies used on our website is: _ga, _gat, _gid.
- for the purpose of embedding audio and video recordings stored on the servers of external suppliers Spotify AB (https://www.spotify.com/pl/legal/cookies-policy and https://www.spotify.com/pl/legal/privacy-policy) cookies and Google LLC (https://policies.google.com/technologies/cookies and https://policies.google.com/privacy) cookies for the YouTube service are used.
OSW Newsletter
Only an e-mail address has to be provided to receive the free electronic newsletter. The module “Newsletter”, which is available on the homepage www.osw.waw.pl, can be used to do this.
We process data (e-mail address, first name and surname, if elements of your e-mail address, internet identification code) based on your consent, under art. 6 (1)(a) of Directive (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council.
The data obtained in this way are added to the newsletter mailing list. Data are always provided voluntarily.
E-mail addresses added to the mailing list are used to send the newsletter to the relevant user.
OSW reserves the right to send messages to users listed in the database without prior notice, solely in the form of a weekly newsletter with the latest OSW publications and information sent from time to time about other OSW publications and activities.
OSW has its own mailing system. No recipient data is disclosed to third parties. Data are not used in automated decision-making or for profiling.
Personal data are stored for the period in which the newsletter is sent. Your data will be erased by the data controller as of the moment OSW stops mailing information.
To cancel a subscription to the newsletter, click the link provided for this purpose on each newsletter sent by OSW. When a recipient asks to be removed from the mailing list the data controller deletes the recipient’s data from the OSW database.

Any person who uses the website www.osw.waw.pl and a recipient of the newsletter has the right to demand from the data controller access to and rectification of their personal data, erasure or restriction of data processing, the right to object to processing, the right to demand that processing and transfer of data cease, the right to revoke consent at any time, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority – the Inspector General for the Protection of Personal Data.
