The Centre for Eastern Studies co-organized the first meeting of the Polish-Slovak discussion forum which took place on 10 February in Bratislava. The meeting was held in the Office of the Slovak MFA and attended by deputy foreign ministers: Grażyna Bernatowicz and Milan Ježovica.

The debate with the participation of experts from both states who represented the government structures, think-tanks and non-governmental organizations was divided in two topic areas. The first was devoted to the functioning of Eastern Partnership and the situation in Ukraine and Belarus. The second was dominated by energy security issues, including the problems of the North-South gas corridor in which the Polish-Slovak interconnector is to play a significant part, and matters related to the production and transfer of electrical energy in Central Europe.
