On 15 March at OSW office a seminar entitled “Short-term recession or a long-lasting crisis?” took place. It was devoted to the current situation and the prospects for the development of the Ukrainian economy. The seminar’s guests were top Ukrainian economists: Oleg Ustenko – Executive Director of the Bleyzer Foundation (Kyiv), who specializes in research on economies of countries undergoing transformation, the CIS states in particular, advisor to several consecutive Ukrainian governments, and Andriy Novak – head of the Committee of the Economists of Ukraine, social activist, author of the book “How to revive Ukraine’s economy”, former advisor to the governments in Kyiv. The speeches given by the two guests were followed by a discussion moderated by Dr. Adam Eberhardt, Deputy Director of OSW.
