Meeting under the “Think Visegrad” programme

In the framework of study visits organized by the “Think Visegrad” consortium we are hosting a Turkish economist Volkan Sezgin, who is completing his fellowship at OSW. At the discussion meeting on 23 July he presented a comparative analysis of the condition and prospects of fulfilment of the convergence criteria by the economies of Visegrad Group countries and Turkey. The debate focused, among other issues, on the development of economic cooperation between Turkey and Central Europe.
Volkan Sezgin is a doctoral student at the Middle East Technical University (METU), graduate of METU and the University of Manchester. In the years 2006-2010 he was employed with Botas Petroleum Pipeline Corp., currently he is working as an international trade expert at the Ministry of the Economy in Ankara.
