On May 22, in Bratislava, the 5th Polish-Slovak Discussion Forum was held, organized by the ministries of foreign affairs of both countries in cooperation with the OSW and the Slovak Foreign Policy Association (SFPA). The first session was devoted to security challenges in Eastern Europe, including the role of the OSCE. The second session, devoted to current challenges and political constellations in the European Union, including the role of the Visegrad Group, was attended by the secretaries of state for European affairs Konrad Szymański and František Ružička.
OSW's director Adam Eberhardt and OSW deputy director, Mateusz Gniazdowski, participated in the debates of the Forum. Among the Polish experts from outside the Ministry of Foreign Affairs participating in the meeting, there were also prof. Marek Cichocki from the Natolin European Center, director of the Center for Polish-Russian Dialogue and Understanding Ernest Wyciszkiewicz and Karolina Zbytniewska from the University of Warsaw, editor-in-chief of EURACTIV.pl.
The Polish-Slovak Discussion Forum is a broadened consultations at the level of deputy foreign ministers, with the participation of representatives of Polish and Slovak think-tanks and expert centers.
